Late Bloom Lotus is about growth. It’s about transforming from someone who views themselves as a nobody into someone who realizes they are worthy of anything and everything.

I created Late Bloom Lotus to provide some comfort to those who struggle to love themselves unconditionally.

Why Late Bloom Lotus?

I am a late bloomer.

I’m late to saying no when something doesn’t sit right with me.
I’m late to seeing myself as worthy of being respected and having my needs met.
I’m late to leaning into my strengths (instead of focusing on my weaknesses).
I’m late to prioritizing my needs.

I have spent my 20s and 30s shrinking myself to make others comfortable, being a people pleaser, and not trusting myself. Guess what? Your girl is tired! I want to be seen, heard, and understood. In order to do accomplish this, I need to bloom…

In order for a lotus to bloom, it must push up through mud and rise out of murky water. Despite the mud and the water, the lotus’ petals are clean and beautiful.

In many cultures the lotus flower is a symbol of awakening, rebirth, beauty, struggle, new beginnings, and mental evolution.

And thus, this is how I came to chose Late Bloom Lotus. Despite life circumstances it is possible to come out of any situation untouched my the bullshit you had to rise out of.

If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.

About Me

Hello, Im Jaye.

I have loved writing since I was a child. I kept a journal and back in the early 2000s I had a blog. They said you couldn’t make money writing, so I stopped and focused on doing things that made money. I was reminded of my love for writing and decided to try my hand at blogging again. Im writing to rediscover who I am and to love on myself.

What else?

  • I’m 30-something years old and I live in Georgia.
  • I enjoy reading. My fav genres are autobiographies, mysteries/thrillers, and magical realism.
  • I also enjoy video games. Action-adventure, simulation, and puzzle-platformers are my fav. Side note: The Sims 4 is disappointing trash, you can’t change my mind.
  • When Im laid on the couch eating cake Im probably watching a documentary about crime, a hoarder, or an addict.

If you’re into personality types, Im an INFJ. Or if astrology is your thing: Cancer Sun, Virgo Moon, Libra Rising.

I hope this is enough info to quench your curiosity about the lady behind the blog. As this blog evolves, you will come to know me a lot better. I hope you stick around!

If you have any questions please reach out to me here.

It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. I have learned that it is no one else’s job to take care of me but me.
